Lake Millstätter See
Lake Millstätter See
Lake Millstätter See lies at 588m above sea level on the south side of the main Alpine ridge and has a mild climate. The average summer temperature in the region is 25ºC. Climatically, the lake is also favored by an updraft, which provides increased sunshine over the lake. As the deepest and most water-rich lake in Carinthia, Lake Millstatt is not only very temperature-stable, but also one of the warmest lakes with a surface temperature of 22ºC - 25ºC in summer. Bathing season is from May to September.
Cycling
An approx. 28km long cycle path leads around Lake Millstätter See, which is ideal for (re)beginners and families who want to enjoy a leisurely cycle tour.
The cycle path leads directly through our village, Dellach, and there are numerous adventure opportunities along the route. The cycle tour around the lake can also be shortened or combined with the two cycle ferries that sail across the lake. Of course, there are also more challenging mountain bike and road bike tours in the region, such as the Sternentrail or the Nockbalmrunde.
Hiking & Climbing
The Millstätter See region forms the transition between the gentle hills of the Nockberge and the rugged mountain peaks of the Hohe Tauern with its 30000m peaks.
